Midwife with heart and engineering

A moving journey between Birth support and digital Transformation

For 35 years, I help women in their births. I was allowed to accompany many women, couples and families, and always something New and Exciting to learn.

There were UPS and downs, thirst, routes, and reorientation. After so many years, I can’t imagine still to do anything else than to be a midwife.

Experience & success

Each new birth, every new life is going to give me more experience,. My success is measured not in Numbers, but, above all, to the confidence and gratitude, to me, the families meet.

The use of technology makes it possible to overcome barriers in health care and to support families worldwide. As a result, new standards can be set in the obstetrics and maternity care.

For that, I am.

Over the years, my perspective on my calling, my job, my skills and knowledge, built up, modified, extended. I will report as:

Sabine gave my husband and I the support and encouragement we needed during this crazy transition in becoming parents, helping to keep us grounded and on track during some amazing but difficult times.

She is an incredibly knowledgeable, experienced and caring midwife who became part of our family for the first few months after our daughter was born.
The Story of
the capital midwife
thebamme
ðə bæmmiː

WHAT DOES IT MEAN:

CAPITAL OF THE

BAMME

“Thebamme” is not just a website – it’s a Name, a story full of warmth and Humor.

It all started in 2017 when I, Sabine, my calling on the international stage, advanced and multi-language midwives platform “Call a Midwife” was founded. , It was the perfect Moment to my knowledge of English to burnish, a venture that initially, not without stumbling blocks was. My Attempts, the German word “midwife” in English to pronounce, without it to translate, led to the funny neologism “Thebamme”.

This little slip of the tongue has been lovingly of my friends picked up on, especially as I have in the past as the “capital midwife” was known. On the English-language ” “Call a Midwife”page had this German title as a curious mixture of German and English – “capital of the bamme”.

This charming confusion quickly became a classic, and “The Bamme” my loving nickname. Friends decided to honor this linguistic creation. For my birthday they gave me a light box that read, “We love the bamme!”.

A loving recognition of the way from the capital midwife to “The bamme” celebrated. Today is “Thebamme” for the merging of my identity as a midwife with my international presence, for the Balance between Tradition and Modernity, and a pinch of Humor, which reminds us that the most beautiful moments, often in the simplicity of a smile, lie.

If you look very closely, you will recognize in “thebamme” also means “midwife” – a small, but fine Detail, it shows how a simple misunderstanding, a loving recognition of my work has become.
